My husband Julian has quite the collection of shadow plaid Pendleton’s, both current and vintage. For decades now, many of them have been converted to a short sleeve style because he wears them all year round. Since my husband did all the cutting and markings for his alterations, we have accumulated a beautiful collection of “scraps” all correlating back to a Pendleton in his collection.
I knew that one day, I would find something to do with the gorgeous wool scraps and the time has come. I have delicately repurposed the shadow plaids into small women’s clutches, most of them have been made with an iPhone Plus size in mind. I have paired the fabric with various faux leathers, wristlets and some adorned with tassels and beads.
Patterns/colors/embellishments are limited since I only have half a sleeve to work with, with the exception of one pattern that I had a whole shirt to use. So, if you see something you like, grab it, they are limited and specially made with my own two hands.
The clutches come with a satin lining marked with the Mendoza autograph and my Lisa Love logo (which was also created by Julian), to authenticate our collaboration on this project.
